Key Personnel


Richard C. Benson, P.G., C.P.G., Senior Scientist
Richard C. Benson has over 40 years of professional experience in the Applied Earth Sciences.  He formed Technos, Inc. in 1971 and served as President until 2005.  He has pioneered the application of geophysical methods to environmental and engineering projects, and co-authored many of the ASTM standards for the geophysical methods.  He has authored over 70 technical publications and short-courses.  In 2004, Mr. Benson was presented with the Gold Medal Contribution Award for Exceptional Contribution to EEGS and the Engineering and Environmental Geophysical community.


Lynn B. Yuhr, P.G., President - lynn@technos-inc.com
Lynn B. Yuhr is President of Technos and served as Vice President and General Manager from 1989 to 2005.  She holds a M.S. degree in Geology/Hydrogeology from Florida International University with a focus on geophysics.  She is actively involved in all phases of a project and specializes in data management and integration.  Ms. Yuhr has been an instructor and co-instructor for short courses including Theory and Application of Surface Geophysics to Ground Water Investigations, Applied Geophysics for Site Characterization, Pitfalls of Site Characterization, and Geologic Site Characterization with an Emphasis on Karst.


Ronald D. Kaufmann, P.G., Vice President - ron@technos-inc.com
Ronald D. Kaufmann is Vice President of Technos and served as a senior geophysicist from 1996 to 2005.  He holds a M.S. degree in Geophysics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He manages and actively participates in all phases of projects, including data acquisition, modeling, processing, integration, and report writing.  His expertise includes acquiring and analyzing microgravity, resistivity (land and marine), electromagnetic, ground penetrating radar (GPR), magnetic, and seismic data.  He is currently developing unique applications of marine seismic refraction, marine resistivity, and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW).


Marisol Almendarez, General Manager
Marisol Almendarez is General Manager of Technos and served as Office Manager since 1989.  Marisol is in contact with our field crews and can assist you with your questions on our services.


Daniel W. Casto, P.G., Sr. Geophysicist - dan@technos-inc.com
Daniel W. Casto has been with Technos since 2001 and was promoted to Senior Geophysicist in 2007.  He holds a M.S. degree in Geophysics from the University of Arizona.  His experience includes acquiring and analyzing resistivity, electromagnetic, magnetic, ground penetrating radar (GPR) and seismic data along with geophysical logging.
